A glass sculpture designed and produced by myself. Hand cut stained glass, laser etched, solder, live plants, concrete.
This sculpture is a critique of human imprisonment, and references Rene Girard's theory of violence, religion and the scapegoat. The coffins are hand-made from traditional stained glass materials, and then filled with transplanted live plants previously growing individually. The base is a custom-poured concrete platform designed specifically for this sculpture. The plants will all be treated the same and documented as they thrive or survive in their new homes.
“You do not realize that it is better for you that one man die for the people than that the whole nation perish.” John 11:50
